Laurel’s love for dance began at an early age and has grown into over thirty years of experience. She began as a studio dancer and started choreographing competitive routines at age 17. She later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Dance, interning with renowned companies such as Zenon Dance Company and School, the Mark Morris Dance Group, and Battery Dance Company. Laurel also gained valuable experience in gymnastics, coaching in Michigan, Maine, Maryland, and Virginia. She has been a professional member of USAG and SafeSport-certified.

After graduating from the University of Maine School of Law, Laurel moved to the DMV, where she continued her education by earning a Master’s in Public Policy, a Graduate Certificate in National Security, and a Master’s in Communication. When she’s not at the studio, Laurel works as a federal lobbyist, advocating for stronger animal welfare legislation. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her beloved pit bull, Kalani.

With over a decade of teaching experience, Laurel is passionate about providing strong technical training while building confidence in her students—both on and off the dance floor. Her approach emphasizes positivity, individuality, and self-confidence, creating an encouraging environment where dancers feel empowered to grow, express themselves, and reach their fullest potential.
